Dr Danielle Every is a social psychologist specialising in research on and programs for social inclusion for vulnerable groups, particularly refugees, people experiencing homelessness, and women and children in the aftermath of violence. For the last ten years she has researched and published on dismantling barriers to social inclusion, particularly the barriers of community attitudes, media and political discourses, and poverty and disadvantage. She has also researched and published analyses of disasters in the media, particularly how these portray owners who rescue their pets and the consequences for disaster planning. Dr Every is also training as a psychotherapist working with vulnerable families and young people who are experiencing homelessness.
