Peter’s initial working life was spent working in forest management in New Zealand and the UK, culminating in his appointment as the Southern Regional Manager for Carter Holt Harvey Forest Resources. About eight years ago, Peter undertook an MSc in industrial and organisational psychology. Assisted by the Bushfire CRC, Peter went on to complete a PhD at La Trobe University in 2013. Peter’s doctoral research used simulation to investigate decision making and teamwork in Incident Management Teams. Peter’s research has been published in various conference proceedings, journals, and in a recent Ashgate book on human factors in the emergency sector.
