Anthony is an early career academic with the the Research Institute for Sport and Exercise (UCRISE) at the University of Canberra, completing his PhD in thermal physiology. His research is in the area of improving the safety of firefighters through informing evidence based standard operating procedures and post-incident rehabilitation. His research also includes assessing changes to immune and inflammatory function in the heat, with reference to body composition and fitness. Anthony is currently as a senior firefighter with ACT Fire & Rescue with extensive operational experience, which he draws on when interpreting research data obtained through ongoing study with operational urban firefighters.
