Professor John Handmer leads RMIT’s Centre for Risk and Community Safety, and its Human Security Program. Professor Handmer is also Convener of the NCCARF (National Climate Change Adaptation Research) Network for Emergency Management, a Senior Scientific Advisor for the Bushfire CRC and was a convenor for the IPCC report on extremes and managing disasters. He also works on the human dimensions of emergency management and climate change adaptation.
